Visa & documents
Tanzania
Most visitors need a tourist visa for Tanzania. You can apply online in advance through the official Tanzania Immigration e-visa portal (eservices.immigration.go.tz), and visas can also be obtained on arrival at major entry points. Applying online beforehand usually saves time at the airport. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your arrival date and have blank pages for stamps. Carry proof of onward or return travel and your accommodation details. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you arrive from, or have transited through, a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission, which can include Kenya. We also recommend speaking to a travel clinic about malaria prevention. Entry rules and fees change. Please confirm the current requirements for your nationality on the official Tanzania government sites before you travel.
